PREPARATION OF HIGH CALORIE INFANT FORMULA



MIX WELL & REFRIGERATE


SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:


Wash hands before preparing formula

Boil all utensils (bottles, nipples, rings, caps, measuring spoons, etc.) for 5 minutes

Boil tap water for 5 minutes. Allow boiled water to cool. Bottled water my be used instead of tap water.

If you used powdered formula, ALWAYS ADD POWDER TO WATER. Mix thoroughly; a blender or wire whisk is helpful.

Pour desired amount into each bottle, cap and refrigerate until ready to use.


NOTE: IF INFANT IS OVER 3 MONTHS OF AGE, THERE IS NO NEED TO BOIL UTENSILS & WATER


TO WARM BOTTLE:


Place bottle of formula into pan of warm water for 5 minutes or until desired temperature is reached. Always test temperature of formula before feeding.

Room temperature formula should be discarded after 1 hour.

Refrigerated formula MUST be discarded after 24 hours.

Prepare fresh formula daily.


PREPARATION OF HIGHER CALORIE FORMULA FROM INFANT FORMULA (POWDER)

(Consult your physician before using this for your child)

24 calorie/ounce:Add 3 level scoops of formula powder to 5 ounces water

27 calorie/ounce:Add 2 level scoops of formula powder to 3 ounces water

30 calorie/ounce:Add 3 level scoops of formula powder to 4 ounces water



PREPARATION OF HIGHER CALORIE FORMULA FROM INFANT FORMULA (CONCENTRATE)

(Consult your physician before using this for your child)

24 calorie/ounce:13 oz can base + 8½ oz water

27 calorie/ounce:13 oz can base + 6 oz water
